These are the covers of every issue of NoHo Magazine (20 total). Notice
the evolution in cover design, including changes in the masthead and cover
art. The two four-color covers were designed by a professional graphic
designer.

The first issue of NoHo Magazine came out in January of 1993 and
the last issue was October, 1994. I like to say that I started the magazine
with a good idea and bad credit. As the publisher, I was involved in all
aspects of production, design, editorial, distribution, and advertising.
My favorite part was guiding the magazine's editorial content. The part
a hated the most was hustling for advertising. The result was a magazine
that increased in editorial quality throughout its run, but ultimately
failed as a business.
When I started the magazine it was a one-person operation. By the last
issue, there were over a dozen people involved, including writers, photographers,
illustrators, editors, and ad salespeople. I'm very proud that I was able
to engage several very talented people in this endeavor, especially considering
that nobody was getting paid.
While working on the magazine, I was introduced to the the world of unabridged
dictionaries, thesauruses and usage guides by a friend who was a proofreader
by trade and worked with me on the magazine. He viewed proofreading as
a wonderful puzzle and enjoyed figuring out what was wrong with a sentence
and discovering the best solution. I have acquired the same enthusiasm.
